Association of Christian Schools International
Parents frequently ask us about ACSI and what it means that ODCS is accredited by ACSI. ACSI stands for the Association of Christian Schools International. ODCS is the only preschool-grade 12 school that is accredited by ACSI within 60 miles of Elyria. The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) strives to enable and equip Christian educators and schools worldwide to effectively educate children and young people with the mind of Christ. The recent Cardus Education Survey and other education studies show that ACSI schools better develop the whole child than any other type of school.
Cognia
Open Door Christian Schools (ODCS) also holds accreditation from the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), an accreditation division of Cognia.
NCA CASI provides nationally recognized accreditation, the purpose of which is continuous school improvement focused on increasing student performance. To earn accreditation, schools must meet NCA CASI’s high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous process of school improvement.
NCA CASI accreditation is recognized across state lines, which not only eases the transfer process as students move from accredited school to accredited school, but also assures parents that the school is meeting nationally accepted standards for quality and successful professional practice.
Dual Accreditation
Open Door Christian Schools has been chartered by the State of Ohio and an accredited member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) since its start in 1976.
This dual accreditation status makes ODCS one of only 12 schools in the entire state of Ohio to hold this distinction.
