Teachers instill a love of learning...

Mrs. Bond made 1st grade such a wonderful learning experience for students by relating what they learned in class to their everyday lives. She made God a part of their everday learning. After she had taught them something, she would give them the chance to be the "teacher." But the biggest thing my daugther loved was all the books and the reading. She was so excited to have so many wonderful books in her classroom and available for her to read. Then to have parent readers come to the class to read to them on Fridays was super fun. Mrs. Bond was always encouraging them to read. When Mrs. Bond would read to the class, my daugther said, "Mrs. Bond made the books come alive"  Mrs. Bond truly gave the children a love for reading along with all the other wonderful projects they did in class. It was amazing to see the excitement and growth the children have made over the school year. Thank you Mrs. Bond! -Mrs. Robinson, ODCS Parent

A school where Jesus Christ is the foundation...

[The thing I love most about ODCS is] the atmosphere that my son is learning in each day! The fact that he is being taught at a school where Jesus Christ is the foundation. I feel it when I walk through the doors each time. This is my son Jaeden's first year and it has been an awesome experience for us both. My son is happy and motivated. He feels comfortable with his teachers and feels the care that they have for him as a child of God and as a student. The staff is very kind and helpful. The students are friendly and helpful too. :) It's a very good feeling to know that my son is in a safe, nurturing, atmosphere and that the curriculum is set at a high standard that motivates my son to push and strive to do his best. We are very happy to be a part of ODCS! -Mrs. Wells, ODCS Parent

Because the culture is unique...

The culture at Open Door is very unique and sets us apart from all others. The genuine love each and every staff member pours into the kids every day leaves me speechless. Open Door is not just the school we send our children to; they truly are our extended family. They are passionate about partnering with us in the rearing of our children to teach them the importance of having a personal relationship with God, understanding and living with a true, Biblical worldview, and emphasizing how important service is in their Christian faith. In addition, ODCS offers a rigorous academic process and amazing drama, music, art, and athletic departments all of which challenge and develop the students to do their best for the glory of God. Because she is in good hands...

"What we love most about ODCS are the core values; the personal attention given; being approached and responded to in a friendly manner; and dedicated educators and staff that give 110% daily. Our daughter had always done well in school prior to our move to ODCS. This is our second year having her enrolled and she has excelled even more. The staff has made her think more, she in turn has responded well. She truly enjoys learning and seeks to do not only her best but...her very best because of the manner in which she is being challenged on a daily basis. She has become quite close to some of the teachers and that is a comfort to us as parents. If something is bothering her, she is comfortable in discussing it or sharing it with these educators. While they are there to encourage and promote her learning they also serve as an open ear to any issues she might have. It is a fact that no matter the grade, from High School students to the younger grades, everyone is friendly and speaks to one another in the halls. We are glad our child is not timid. We have been amazed at the number of upper grade students who know her by name and take the time to recognize her as such. ODCS is more like an "extended family" setting and that is a plus for nurturing social skills in young lives. Any staff member from the Head of Schools or Principal down to Teachers and Coaching staff can be approached at any time. This allows us as parents to feel comfortable that we can reach out with any question or share any comment by email, phone or in person at any time. Our daughter is in good hands at the point she enters the school building each day and the ODCS staff care for her, look out for her safety and well-being, and we are assured a watchful eye is given to not only her...but to every student in their care each day."Mr. Conley, ODCS Parent

Because of the authentic approach to Christian education...

"We homeschooled for 8 years because we thought we didn’t have a choice. Other schools, even well intentioned, suffer from an all too powerful secular peer culture and/or disunited staff when it comes to living and teaching the faith. At ODCS, we have been grateful to find an uncompromisingly joyful and authentic approach to Christian education. Every staff person we’ve had the pleasure of meeting oozes love for Christ. It is THE reason they do what they do, and they love our kids with HIS love. Academically, they are getting so much more than I was ever able to give them, but more importantly they are visibly maturing in Christ. For example, my oldest frequently leads us in prayer and encourages us in our faith walk, because of her teachers’ witness and the time in chapel. She is being raised up as a leader, and I already see the fruit in my home! I am truly humbled and grateful that all the staff members at ODCS have chosen to offer their professional skills to our children, in the service of Christ. They are making a huge difference in our family and have been the answer to this weary mom's prayers! "-Mrs. Harrison, ODCS Parent

Because we saw significant change...

" We have been part of the ODCS family for two years now and we couldn't be happier. Previously, we had our children in a large public school. Our children were in large classes and were not being pushed to their potential. Christian education had always been a desire of ours. We wanted excellence in education while integrating a spiritual focus into our children's everyday life. My husband and I both attended Christian schools. Our goal was for our children to attend public schools until middle school and then move them, but God had other plans. As our oldest son began to have difficulty in the public school systems due to the lack of individual attention and the lack of being pushed academically we decided to check out the Christian schools in our area. After many prayers, talking with other friends who attend ODCS, having a tour of the school, speaking with the admissions director and seeing the students in "action," we were sold. The first year at ODCS I began to see a significant change in my son. He went from disliking school all together to not wanting to miss a day. He is being challenged on every aspect, and the teachers/faculty not only strive for academic excellence, but they care about his spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. I could not have asked for him to have been assigned to a better teacher his first year attending ODCS. Mrs. McCourry is an outstanding teacher and I am so thankful for her love, patience, and dedication to her students, their families, and to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will never forget during our first parent/teacher conference, after reviewing Tyler's grades and his academic abilities she asked me, "How is Tyler's spiritual life?" and "How can I help grow him in that area?" This is why we have chosen ODCS. We are so thankful for the opportunity to send our kids to a school that not only offers a SUPERB education but also integrates faith in their everyday life...from math to the basketball court. We are very thankful and blessed to be part of the ODCS family. "- Mrs. Reaser, ODCS Parent

Because we needed a partner in educating our children...

"I had home-schooled our kids for 3 years, but after adopting 2 year old twins, I just didn't have anything left to give. Our kids needed more, and quite frankly, I needed a break! What a joy it has been to watch each of our children thrive at ODCS, not just educationally, but in personal and spiritual maturity! I am beyond grateful for the staff at ODCS. The one on one attention my children receive is incredible and the investment the staff makes in the lives of the students is a gift! I thank the Lord for bringing our family to ODCS because I know without a doubt this is where my children are becoming more like Jesus."- Mrs.Krauss, ODCS Parent

Because our expectations were met ....

"This is the place where our high school aged kids thrive in body, mind and spirit. We wanted a place where they would receive a top-notch education in a Christ-centered enviornment. We wanted a place with opportunities for sports, music, the arts, and extra-curriculars. We wanted a place that provided a wide range of rigorous academics and a relevant curriculum that would prepare them for college and life. Our kids desperately needed a place that they felt welcome: they needed a place where they felt that they belonged. I can honestly say that Open Door Christian School met all of our expectations. We are thrilled to be a part of the ODCS community. We truly feel that our kids are at the best school in the area, and just as important, our kids do too!"- Mrs.Soures, ODCS Parent

Because of prayer time...

"What I love most about Open Door Christian Schools is the prayer time. When you meet with each leader in the school there is prayer, during the admission process, during conferences, during Open House, before and after athletic practice as well as before each game, during one on one meetings and I'm sure there is prayer at many other times. I get emotional each time prayer is had. It's great! You can feel the Holy Spirit moving amongst the faculty and the leaders and the parents and the children and that's wonderful. What a blessing and learning experience for the children to witness and experience, I pray all of the children pass the Open Door Christian Schools legacy on to their children. Just knowing our children are getting a Godly education gives peace of mind. Everything that they are taught about God will be with them the rest of their lives and that is priceless! I am blessed in knowing that they will remember and teach their children and grandchildren Godly morals, standards, principles and values." -Mrs. Eshleman, ODCS Parent

Because they are learning about their Lord and Savior...

" I love that it is truly Christ centered. The teachers and staff genuinely care about my children and are willing to go above and beyond to teach them in a way that they learn. Everyone at ODCS was welcoming to us from day one. We moved from Texas to Ohio and didn't know anyone. My kids made friends right away and there are so many ways for me to be involved in the school. My children are not only learning all they need to be successful but also about their Lord and Savior."- Mrs.Hunt,ODCS Parent

Because they are making Biblical connections...

"My children have Bible lessons each day and Biblical truths integrated into academic lessons. My older children (4th grader and 3rd grader) have a vast knowledge and understanding of the Bible. It is very interesting to overhear some of the deeper topics they will talk about and how they can relate Bible stories or make Biblical connections that I would not have been able to make at such a young age. I value so deeply that the teachers at ODCS definitely care about the academic success of my children, and more importantly, they love my children enough to always point hem to Christ. Whether in celebration or correction, the teachers make sure that the children know that Jesus loves them and celebrates with them or will forgive them if they ask. Having teachers who pray with my children is priceless." Mr. Perris- ODCS Parent, Teacher, and Coach

Because I know they are safe and nurtured...

"ODCS is wonderful. I feel so comfortable sending my child to school here. The children receive a fantastic, wide-based, well-rounded curriculum. The academic bar is set high at ODCS, and it also includes a Christian education, which is so very important to us. Learning how to live a Christ-centered life, making it a part of your everyday, not just Sunday, is so important for all of us - young or old. And just walking the halls, seeing the kids from preK to Seniors, they are all so kind and respectful and are exactly the kind of children I hope to raise. The staff is wonderful. And I can't express enough how comfortable I am dropping my little ones off here every day, knowing they will be safe, nurtured, and receiving a wonderful education."-Parent review on greatschools.org
