Preschool Classroom Schedule Explanation
Open Classroom:
Learning Centers are available, including: snack, writing center, library/language arts, dramatic play, blocks, manipulative, math, science, art, and sensory table.
Transition:
Moves group from free choice in learning centers to more structured time. This time may include Prayer, a discussion of the weather, calendar, stories, songs and finger plays.
Bible Time:
Usually involves a Bible story or application of biblical principles using books, songs, pictures, flannel graph, props, puppets, and drama as well as the Bible itself.
Music:
Learn new songs using instruments, creative movement, sign language and drama. Meet with a music teacher once a week.
Circle Time:
Includes songs, story, introduction of the letter, number, shape and theme of the week.
Creative Movement Time:
Teachers plan specific movement activities (which involve the large muscles); this will enhance physical skills. This could include: scarf dancing, obstacle course, relay races, and shadow dancing.
Outdoor Time
In nice weather we visit the courtyard playground with the other classes. In inclement weather we use our classroom for creative movement experiences.
Library Time:
Visit school library once a week.
