Open Door Christian Preschool Program Description

Our Preschool program is a hands-on, developmentally appropriate and play-based program. Children are introduced to letters, shapes, colors, numbers, and God's Word through the use of learning centers. A time of prayer and biblical instruction is included in each day's schedule as well as time for instruction in music and creative movement. We are licensed by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and have been accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (acsi.org) since 1997. We are required to align our curriculum to include the State Content Standards as mandated by the ODE.

We offer a variety of half-day or full-day programs for children from three to five-years-old. The half-day session includes the core preschool program. The full-day session includes the core preschool program, a hot lunch, a rest time, and additional Learning Center time. All of our morning and full-day classes offer an early drop-off time as early as 7:30 a.m. at no additional charge.

EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM: This program is designed to assist our families on either an occasional or regular basis and is available Monday through Friday as an extension of any full day session or the afternoon half-day session. The Extended Care program occurs from 3:00 until 5:30 p.m. and families are charged for this service separate from their preschool tuition. Fees for this service are $4/hour/child ($3/hr for each additional child) which is figured in 15 min. increments. Families will be sent a monthly statement indicating the amount owed for this service after the services are rendered. • Our Three-Year-Old class is geared toward preparing children socially for participation in the classroom.
  • Need to be three by August 1st and fully potty trained
  • Offered two days/week (Tuesday/Thursday)
  • Half-day (8:00-11:00 a.m.) or full-day (8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) classes available
  • Extended Care available with full-day class (3:00-5:30 p.m.)
  • Class size: fewer than 10 children to one teacher

• Our Pre-K4 class accommodates children who have summer and fall birthdays and who may or may not plan to attend Kindergarten for another year.
  • Turn four between June 1st and December 31st
  • Three days/week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday)
  • Half-day (8:00-11:00 a.m.) or full-day (8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) classes available
  • Extended Care available with full-day class (3:00-5:30 p.m.)
  • Class size: fewer than 12 children to one teacher

• Our Pre-K 5 class is structured to assist four and five-year-olds in preparing for kindergarten.
  • Turn four by August 1st
  • Options:
    • Half-day (8:00-11:00 a.m.) Tuesday/Thursday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, or Monday-Friday
    • Full-day (8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) Tuesday/Thursday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, or Monday-Friday
    • Afternoons (12:00-3:00 p.m.) Monday/Wednesday/Friday
  • Extended Care available with full-day and afternoon class (3:00-5:30 p.m.)
  • Class size: fewer than 14 children to one teacher
