ODCS Freshman, Jennifer Legan, Rising Volleyball Athlete
Elyria, OH April 20, 2009- Open Door Christian Schools’ (ODCS) Freshman, Jennifer Legan, is the first Freshman to play on the ODCS Varsity Team in many years. Legan is also making her school proud on the 15 Blue National Team with Cleveland Volleyball Company (CVC), a division of the Ohio Valley Region of Junior Olympic Volleyball.
Legan, 5’4” and 110 lbs., is small in stature but a great student and athlete. She holds a 3.7 GPA and is involved in other school activities such as the marching band, spirit club and the student aide program. “Jennifer is an excellent player and a hard worker. We are happy to have her on the team,” says Legan’s ODCS Volleyball Coach, Lowana Dunckel.
CVC has been offering competitive volleyball since 1990. Legan has been playing volleyball since the 5th grade and began playing with Junior Olympic Volleyball since the 6th grade. She practices three times a week with the CVC. Legan shows her versatility by playing as setter for the ODCS team and playing Defensive Specialist with CVC.
Recently, Legan’s Junior Olympic Team competed in the National Qualifier in Atlanta, GA, where they ranked 37th out of 144 teams from all over the nation. “Jennifer has a true love of the game and we are so proud of her dedication and accomplishments,” says Legan’s mom, Missy Legan.
