Guidance Department News

The Guidance department is implementing a new series of classroom presentations.

Students in the elementary wing will have monthly classroom time with the counselors, exploring some of the positive character traits we want to instill in our students. Ask your student periodically what they are learning about, and watch your child's classroom newsletter for each month's theme.

Students in our Middle School will also be having classroom time with the counselors. We will begin with our seventh grade students. Study skills will be emphasized throughout the first unit, with social skills to follow.

Seniors need to be gearing up for college applications! We already have a few transcript requests in! You should have your list narrowed down to about five choices -- a sure-fire-I-know-I-can-get-in choice, a "stretch" school and three in the middle. Be sure to register for your SAT or ACT administration. Also, both juniors and seniors should remember that they have three college visit days during the school year. Make an appointment now with Mr. Granneman to discuss your plans.
