ACSI District Spelling Bee
ODCS students in grades 1-6 competed in the ACSI District Spelling Bee on Friday, Jan. 25 at Bethel Christian Academy in Parma. There were 14 schools in total represented at the Bee with probably close to 160 students ranging from 1st - 8th grades. We took 12 students, 2 from each grade level. The following students placed in their grade division.
Ben Lauren First grade, 2nd place
Hannah Bell, Third grade, 4th place
Rachel Cairns, Fourth grade, 3rd place (this group took over 2 hours and 53 rounds to finally get a winner!)
Paul Kardar, Sixth grade, 1st place.
Paul was also able to compete in the District Final Round Spell Off between the top 2 winners in grades 5-8. Paul placed 2nd and will be headed along with three others to Columbus later this spring for the ACSI Regional Spelling Bee! |
