 The ODCS Academic Challenge Team
The team competed against Ledgemont and Independence High Schools on December 15th.
Team captain Galen Buttitta and team members Anna Vanche and Hannah Lewis practice Monday afternoons in the library with fellow team members Jackie Pence, Toby Labanow, and Lisa Ciarrone. A new buzzer system provided by the P.T.F. gives the team the opportunity to practice under competition conditions. "Some of the questions we use in practice come from study guides for high school competitiions as well as from current events," says Mrs. Jackie Schiller, team advisor. The team is already preparing for the next competion in January, the Lorain County Scholastic Games, which will be broadcast on WEOL. |
