Howdy!

I am so excited to be starting as president of Open Door Christian Schools. My wife Sarah and I want to express our appreciation to the many of you that have reached out to us to help us feel welcomed. Your kindness has made our transition from California better than we could have imagined.

I also want to thank Mr. Walt Sheffield for his three outstanding years of service to this school and ministry. His leadership has put the school on solid footing despite an extraordinarily difficult economy, and he has positioned it well for where I believe God wants to take us.

In my 15 years in Christian education, I have had the opportunity to become familiar with many different schools, and I can tell you with confidence that Open Door Christian Schools has one of the finest programs in the country. God has blessed this ministry richly, allowing it to make a profound impact for God’s kingdom over the years. Looking to the future, I believe God wants to do even more through this school. Our culture grants influence to those who achieve excellence, and as such we want to strive to provide the highest quality programs in multiple areas. By training and equipping our students to achieve excellence, we can help them positively influence our community and the world for Christ. We are blessed to already have programs of distinction within academics, arts and athletics. We want to build on those and expand them, not so we can have bragging rights, but so that God can receive maximum glory through this ministry and our students.

While I have only been affiliated with the school for a little while, I am already overwhelmed with gratitude to the teachers, staff and administration for the sacrificial service they provide to our students and families. Parents, I thank you for the sacred trust that you have shown by partnering with us to educate your children. And students, I pray that you will be as excited as I am about what God has in store for you.

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you better this coming year. I pray God’s peace on each of you as you enjoy your summer vacation.
