ODCS Preschool Monthly Newsletter       May 2008

Finally, spring seems to be here to stay!!  We are enjoying lots of “growing” things in our classrooms-especially the students!  Everyone has grown so much this year, in size and abilities—you should be very proud of each one---we are!

What a WONDERFUL time we had at our Mother’s Day Teas.  We hope you enjoyed them as much as we enjoyed preparing them for you!!

The school year is winding down very quickly, but we still have many fun and important things to do.  The PreK  classes visited the Kindergarten classes, just to get a little taste of what is to come.  I think they really enjoyed it.  The classes will experience fun days such as “going to the zoo, beach, and for a picnic” (all pretend, of course).  We will also enjoy more time outside if we can.  Speaking of picnics and the outdoors…

On May 29th/30th our Preschool classes will be having individual class picnic days.  We set these days aside to have some special activities and a special “snack picnic” for each Preschool Class to have fun and fellowship together as a class.  This is their last day with their teacher and classmates before our big FINALE.  It will also be the day that teachers present their students with year-end gifts-so that this special time doesn’t get over-shadowed by the busy, final days.  As always, we do not expect any gifts, however, if you choose to give your child’s teacher a year-end gift, these days would be the best days to do so.  Thanks for your help in this!

Finally, remember to plan on joining us for our Family Fun Days on June 2nd/3rd.  The whole family is invited to join us-but not until 8:30 a.m.-- the PS staff will need some time to get everything ready for you!!  Please do not arrive after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, June 2nd  and Tuesday June 3rd.  We will enjoy the fun activities, food, a singing program, and presentation of certificates.  We will dismiss at 11:00 a.m.  Extended Care will be in session only on Monday, no extended care will be available Tuesday.  You can sign up to help with treats for that day on the Parent Info Boards and outside classrooms. One more reminder will come your way before the end of the month.  Thanks for you support and prayers-.
