The Junior High School years are an exciting time of transition from the 6th grade. At ODCS, junior high consists of grades 7 and 8. Each junior high student is assigned a personal locker, and these students move from class to class through an eight-period schedule.

ART
Seventh grade art will provide an art background in a variety of art procedures, composition, aesthetics, and art history. A variety of art mediums will be used to teach basic art principles. Students will gain an insight and understanding of the value, creativity, and styles of art.

BAND
Junior high band is an elective for seventh and eighth grade students. Students will continue the learning processes of rhythms, note recognition, and ensemble playing. There are three concerts yearly as well as large-group competition with OMEA.  Homework will include practicing and traditional written homework.
