Virtual Field Trip

ODCS videoconference field trip!

ODCS third graders had an opportunity to go to the Museum of Natural History without leaving campus!  No permission slips, buses, or money needed!  The students “went” via videoconference technology in the high school computer lab.  The goal was to learn more about the Iditarod race in Alaska.  They also learned about Balto, the hero dog, from the 1920’s.  The museum guide showed us many historical pictures of the race, the actual vials of medicine, and told us some really interesting facts.  It was all made possible by a grant from the Nordson Foundation.
