Open Door Christian Preschool Mission Statement: Our mission is to serve families of preschoolers by partnering with them in the preparation of their child(ren) for their future school experiences. This is accomplished by offering a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment that provides play-based experiences that enhance the development of the whole child. This is accomplished by addressing the following areas – Social, Physical, Intellectual, Creative, Emotional and Spiritual. • Tuesday and Thursday, half or full day (Not available for Pre-K students) Open Classroom Time involves Learning Centers, which represent ten curriculum areas, plus an opportunity for a self-serve snack. Learning centers provide a developmentally appropriate environment for independent and small group learning. Most of the activities are Child Centered, which means children engage independently or in a small group and participate at their level of skill and interest. We make it a habit to introduce concepts and activities thoroughly before encouraging the children to interact independently. Normally, no more than one activity requires close teacher supervision, which leaves at least one adult available to monitor the rest of the activity in the classroom.
