International Students

Open Door Christian Schools (ODCS) has admitted international students since the 1980s. The school is authorized under Federal law to enroll non immigrant students.  ODCS recognizes the many benefits of cultural diversity and welcomes international students. As a designated school through Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and Homeland Security, we are able to issue I-20s to offer a long-term academic study program (F-1 Student Visa). International Students (F-1) need to complete our International Student Agreement in addition to the online ODCS Application. We also offer short-term international cultural exchange programs (J-1 Student Visa) for one year or one semester of study. Foreign exchange students (J-1) need to enter ODCS through a separate international program. Interested individuals should contact the ODCS Director of Admissions, Bronwyn Tucker, at 440-326-2367 or click here to email Mrs. Tucker.

ODCS offers an accelerated curriculum and 95% of our students go on to college. While our academics are rigorous, our mission is to partner with Christian families whose children have a variety of abilities. As a result we offer AP and honors courses as well as remedial instruction if needed.

Located in Lorain County, Ohio, the area surrounding ODCS offers the “Best of the Midwest” experience with rich history, culture, diversity, and strong moral values. Our area is known for its well-funded libraries and plentiful metro parks. A large variety of churches including international churches gives our families many places to worship. Lorain County also boasts Avon, which is the fastest growing city in Ohio.

Only a 25-minute drive from ODCS, the Greater Cleveland area offers an endless supply of arts including theatre, music, and museums. Professional sports include the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns and others. The West Side Market, the Cleveland Science Center, the Cleveland Zoo, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are just a few of the area attractions. Cleveland, Lorain and Elyria and other local cities have a rich cultural diversity. For more information about the area where ODCS resides, please visit loraincounty.com and Cleveland.com
