ODCS Information for Students

Welcome! Open Door Christian Schools exemplify faith, virtue, and knowledge. Students learn about the Lord and themselves in an environment that challenges them to grow in their Christian walk. ODCS is a place for fun, sports, drama, music, art and making life-long friends! "You don't have to worry about being the "new kid" here, everyone is so nice," said one new student recently. ODCS is large enough to have a ton of things to do (clubs, missions projects, social events, sports), but it is small enough that you never feel like just a number. Our teachers really care about our students and give extra time to help.

"You can talk about God and it's cool!" brags one elementary student. There is Bible class every day and chapel every Tuesday. Every course is taught from a Christian perspective. High School chapel even features its own student praise band!

As a graduate of ODCS, the sky is the limit! Our alums are doctors, lawyers, teachers, musicians, pastors, business owners and every thing in between.
Matthew LaFleur, ODCS 2007 alumnus attending the University of Notre Dame said, "Open Door did an outstanding job of preparing me for higher education. The high quality of instruction at Open Door clearly places its alumni many steps ahead of the average student."

EXTRA-CURRICULAR EVENTS

In order to remain consistent with our policy concerning student dress, we have established the following guidelines for all of our students when they are attending school activities or any venue as a representative of ODCS:

  1. Modesty and general neatness are the two primary guidelines. When in doubt, a parent is encouraged to instruct their child not to wear that particular item or outfit to school or to the school activity.
  2. If shorts may be worn – they may be no shorter than four inches above the knee when standing. This is per our shorts policy that is in effect as part of Campus Wear.

NOTE: Activities such as school plays and concerts may call for attire that is more in keeping with the event. Dress-down attire is not always appropriate for every activity.
