Open Door Christian Schools

PURPOSE

ODCS believes that Christian education should be available to all families regardless of social or economic status. The ODCS Financial Aid Program is designed to assist families who demonstrate a need for tuition assistance.

CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY

There are two guidelines for eligibility:

1. An application accompanied with application fee must be received by ODCS. After ODCS has received the application the new family may apply for financial assistance. Financial awards will be communicated to the family after the student(s) has been ACCEPTED by ODCS.
2. Family income does not exceed $42,000 annually OR family income exceeds $42,000 but tuition is at least 10% of income (i.e. if income is $50,000, tuition would have to be $5,000 or more). Note: Certain assets in excess of $12,000 will be calculated in the FFNA recommendation.

SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION

Please be timely in completing your application.
Financial awards will be allocated on a first come basis.

FFNA (Family Financial Needs Assessment) is the organization that Open Door Christian Schools uses to process applications and make recommendations. FFNA has helped Christian schools with this process since 1991. Using an outside agency enhances confidentiality and objectivity in the assessment process.

Applications may be picked up at the ODCS Business Office. Preferably, applications may be completed online at www.ffna1.com. Please note that the “1” in the online address is the number “1” on your keyboard, not the alpha letter “ l ”. For your information, the ODCS ID Number is 1918.

FFNA will process your application and will notify ODCS of their recommendation. ODCS will notify you of the amount of aid you will be receiving as soon as possible. ODCS may or may not award up to the full FFNA recommendation based on available funds. Families with extreme circumstances may appeal FFNA’s recommendation through the ODCS Office of Admissions and Enrollment.

Application fees are payable to FFNA as follows:

$20 Mailed in Application Fee (4 weeks processing)
$30 On-line Application Fee (2 weeks processing)
$40 On-line Fastback Service (2 to 3 business days from date received by FFNA)
$40 Mailed in Fastback Service (2 to 3 business days from date received at FFNA)
