"Coming off the first winning season in ODCS history last year (6-5), the 2008-2009 season showed signs of promise of imrproving upon that achievement. Indeed, the first scrimmage of the season confirmed Coach Whitehead's anticipation of a great season in store, when ODCS tromped A.K. with the second-highest pin fall ever! However, once the official season got under way, the Patriots struggled to keep all the wheels on. Due to a variety of unfortunate developments, including, a reduced player-roster, a variety of player injuries, academic shortfalls and illnesses, the Patriots could muster up only glimpses here and there of what could have been. Although the Patriots finished the season with a 2-9 record, Coach Whitehead still firmly believes that a full roster of healthy, eligible players could have easily turned this season to a 9-2 season, finishing in the top 3 in the conference, instead of near the bottom.

Though it may be hard to imagine, Coach Whitehead remains confident, that the talent pool of bowlers for the 2009-2010 season will surpass that of this year's talent, which should result in a stellar season next year."
